7 Things I Love About Being a Boy Mom (And 1 Thing I Don’t!)

August 25, 2016 2 min read 3 Comments

Being a boy mom is no doubt one of the most awesome things you will experience in your lifetime. As a boy mom, I love every minute of it. Sure, there are some weird and gross parts about being a boy mom, but I embrace it. Here are 7 things I love about being a boy mom.

#1. I love the cuddles.

I don’t know if it is my boys or just boys in general, but boys love cuddles. A hug, cuddle, or kiss from one of my boys just makes my day.

#2. I love the roughness.

My boys could play in the mud all day and I love that. Mud, dirt, and roughness does not bother me one bit. Honestly, it is probably one of the best things about being a boy mom.

#3. I love dressing them up.

If you have boys, you know they can be just as much fun to dress up as girls. Boys can be dressed up and still look just as fancy. (If you don’t know how to dress up your boy, try something from Cuddle Sleep Dream!)

#4. I love the conversations.

Boys have the best things to say. They will tell you like it is too. If they are hungry, tired, or just do not want to listen, they will tell you. I love just talking to my boys and hearing what they have to say.

#5. I love the thought of the future.

Being a boy mom brings so much excitement. Sports, music, arts, play time, college, getting married or whatever your boys choose to do, the future is exciting. I love dreaming about my boys and what paths they may take in life. I’m excited to encourage them along the way.

#6. I love how hard they sleep.

When my boys go down for the day, they are out. They spend so much time outside playing and being boys that when they come in, they fall right to sleep. Most nights anyways, we have our sleep struggles just like anyone else.

#7. I just love being their mom.

There are a lot of things that I love about being a boy mom but the most important thing is just being their mom. Being able to wake up with them and put them to bed. Watching them grow up and become little men. Being a boy mom isn’t about them being a boy, it’s about me being their mom. It’s a joy, privilege and something I’ll treasure forever.

But there is one thing I DON’T love… the LEGO on the floor!

I had to throw this one in there. As much as I love being a boy mom, I don’t love the LEGO that comes with it. I have stepped on those sharp and point objects more times than I care to admit.

I love his ability to be dirty and not care…he crawls, walks and wiggles and doesn’t care how dirty he is as long as he is having fun!
