For Leo's 1st birthday, we decided to do a few different cake smash themes. (That's what happens when your mom makes baby birthday outfits for her job!)
We did a few Winter Onederland photoshoots because I was really loving this theme!
Here's a quick run-down of some of the props and accessories we used.
1. The outfit
For a color scheme, white and silver/gray are a given, but I was having a hard time deciding between baby blue and aqua as the last color, so I made him an outfit to try out both ideas. ;)
I loved the baby blue snow birthday outfit in person, and the outfit is very sweet
but I think the aqua winter onederland outfit colors really pop in the cake smash pictures and ended up being my favorite!
2. Decor
I picked up some helium balloons from a party store the night before. I was super excited they had a balloon that was clear with snowflakes! I also mixed in some light blue and silver balloons. I also picked up a few balloon weights to put them in clusters.
Pro tip: Get a full dozen, sometimes they pop!
3. Banner
I adore this custom combination of tassles on the garland that Soiree Love created for us. I think these standard colors would look great, too, but we swapped the aqua color for a more true baby blue.
4. Shoes
I got him these plain white moccs (with fur lining!) from JaxHoo. And I didn't let him wear them ahead of time, haha!
5. Hat
Don't you just love this glitter crown from Sprinkle Party Co? I can't believe he didn't mind it and actually let us keep it on his head.
6. Toys
I picked up a glittery snowflake from the party store that he wasn't very interested in. But the indoor toy snowballs were a hit, and they looked super cute tossed around.
Tip: I actually bought these off eBay. I was able to get a smaller size pack than online!
